Happy New Year all! As
I stated in my last post we have a new teaser of sorts, you can see it here http://www.youtube.com/user/resurrectbane
it’s a very condensed version of a three minute trailer I have been working
on as FX’s continue to progress. Besides working on Resurrection, another
project that I have been working on titled Killin’ Time is getting very close
to release. Currently all is complete except the final score. Unless someone
can donate 20K to get-r-done. LOL…you’ve got to be kidding me man. We’ll,
when you want a tune that was a Top Ten Hit in the mid 1990’s someone is
going to be paid. That’s what it’s all about in the end, right. I don’t mind
paying for the rights to a tune but I don’t have that kind of cash on hand at
the moment. Who does these days,… for only a two year stint in the film
festival circuit to boot. Maybe next time guys. And on other note I’ll be
filming & producing an alien thriller flick this coming spring title
Attrition which will be released this coming fall. Script is complete and the
project has been cast. To learn more about what else we work on besides this
silly little SW fan film project check out Choker Films and you can also
follow us on FaceBook as well. Until next time my fellow SW geeks, go watch
the teaser and chew on it for a while, dream happy thoughts and one day when
you wake it will be done. Sometimes Sith
happens ;-) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Choker-Films/136502006408585 http://www.youtube.com/user/RickJJohnson247?blend=1&ob=video-mustangbase 12.01.2011 Special effects are
the bane of my existence…. Anyhow, a couple more segments have been shot for
the project recently that had previously been very troublesome to make
happen. So my many years search to find the right peoples to get it done
finally paid off. I guess I can add two more victims to the ever growing
cast. Let’s see here, I been shooting
pieces for this thing since April 2007, and there I was in November 2011
doing the same shit on a different day. Some things never change. A lot of people want
to see the project. I get asked all the time “When is it going to be finished
Rick.” And I always give the same answer. “When it is done, It will be finished.”
That sounds reasonable to me at least. Then most often the next question is
“How long is it then”. At least for that question I have an answer. As it
stands now with the current edit, the project is approximately 1 hour and
twenty minutes in length. There has been as many as 5 different edits to the
project, pretty much equaling shooting years. Although I must admit
virtually no work was preformed on the project in either 2009 or 2010, except
for a few re-shoots. Pretty much took a hiatus. Things can become monotonous.
And I can’t stand to sit in a chair for long periods. I’m the type that needs
to be up and moving around working with my hands and such. I love to shoot,
but hate sitting down it that chair doing editing chores. Just isn’t my cup
of tea. There is no white collar around my neck, actually, my neck is red and
have been accused of being such. Editing is something more suited for a Gamer type. This old man is no Gamer by any means. Those guys are
very talented at what they do, it blows me away. The only video game around
when I was a kid was Pong. I am looking forward
to putting out a new teaser here in the near future. The first one has been
around since 2008. That’s pretty damn old… I feel it’s time for something a
bit fresher. Visual effects work is a tedious task but at least this new
trailer I’ve been playing around with will have all the major FX components
that we’ll see in the finished project. Currently I am getting a hand from
Donato Cocuzza- he’s been my right hand man from the start. Donato takes care
of odd ball items figuring stuff out, while I do the bulk of the FX work. We
have temporarily lost our FX guy, Frank Salinas. So we are back to the basics
as for the amount of visual effects we will see in the project. One day he
may show back up. See
the old trailer here- http://youtu.be/K9d2vsDDspA Hopefully
the next time I post I’ll have more than words to offer. Much thanks to those
that follow our endeavor and Merry Christmas to you! ------------------------------- |
