Preproduction

Of

Resurrection commenced in early April of 2005

The ship pictured below was the first prop I started with. Believe it or not the hull of the miniature craft was constructed with cardboard from a diaper box. I worked on the ship in a hit and miss fashion and by late 2006 the ship, except for a few minor details was completed.

The next project was the miniature cave set (below top left). It was built a year prior to the construction of the fortress and it’s surrounding valley. You can identify it just below the fortress in the mid ground (look close). The fortress set consists of twelve separate segments and measures 8ft wide by 10ft long and about 3ft tall. To this day I continue to augment the set until I am satisfied that it will meet the requirements needed of it.

Much of the preproduction work was carried out and complete by Donato Cocuzza and myself. More than two years were spent crafting and building the various items that I wanted to have available at our disposal once tape began to roll. I was not planning on shooting your run of the mill fan film. My intent was and still is to make a complete project. This one just happens to take place within the Star Wars universe that we all cherish. Resurrection has been an all volunteer endeavor ever since its conception and continues to be. Without the support of dear friends a project of this nature would not have been possible. I thank you all for your past and continued support. I shall cherish it for all eternity.

The fortress was constructed from plaster of Paris, scrap metal mesh, and junk lumber.

We refer to it as the S.M.C.

Nothing shall be left undamaged. We guarantee it.

Something functional yet inexpensive, and best of all, it works!

Now clad in all leather and rubber. The look I was trying to achieve was getting closer.

Guardian mask was a store bought item, then modified in similar ways as other items that were purchased.

Several saber hilts were handcrafted in various grades according to their use and character.

Christina Johnson played a vital role and made her character ‘Virus’ her very own. She did a wonderful job. Thanks sweetheart!

Finding the right locations was a long and critical process. Several regions were scouted, and few fit the bill.

Early conception of Captain Tiris’ makeup, but ultimately another crazy idea was employed - a skin tight helmet was crafted.
